This is “technically” a Canvas Convertible Top (or Navy Top) on a 1986 AMC. The top is in Sunbrella Beige with Solarfix thread and removable windows out of O’Sea 40 gauge marine vinyl. It also features custom visors on the bimini; forward and rear, smile windows and zippered pockets for all 3 bows (which allows removal of the cover for maintenance, repair or cleaning). Here’s a new convertible top for a 1974 Chris Craft Lancer (or sometimes referred to as a Navy Top). This is in Sunbrella “Smoke” with black Solarfix thread, 40 mil O’Sea marine vinyl windows and a new, all stainless 1″ 3 bow frame. This is a good example of the Hood design. Featuring all concealed zippers and zero gaps at the “natural intersection” between the top, side panels and aft slant back cover. All concealed with a custom visor “by curve” (where the top joins the slant back cover). The Navy Top also has a zippered roll up center section coordinated with the center windshield. It features a custom 4″ reinforced boarder at the snap line and triple material with Dacron at each post reinforcement patch. These custom boat canvas post covers were added to a slant-back cover to help mitigate water infiltration. The covers are two ply sunbrella with marine grade velcro to help secure. This application isn’t “water proof” but it certainly helps reduce the amount. Most of the water will naturally shed onto the flap on off onto the side of the hull, below the gunwale.
