Traditional and California Dodgers

My Traditional and California Sailboat Dodgers are custom fabricated to meet your needs. "Custom marine canvas" means the canvas work is specifically designed for the details on your boat. And, just as importantly, for your needs and application. This insures a custom, clean fit, professional appearance and a quality that is rarely, if ever replicated by factory canvas products. I'll work with you in designing the frame. The goal is to make sure your sailboat dodger gives you the look and the functionality that you need.

All of my framing hardware and tubing is made with marine grade stainless steel. I don't use aluminum tubing or plastic fittings or fasteners. The frame is, after all, the critical structural element of the Dodger. Solid frames provide durability, longevity and great looking canvas work.

The pattern is done with the frame installed on the boat. This insures the best possible fit with clean lines and tight canvas.

I use Sunbrella marine fabrics, Solarfix thread and O'Sea vinyl boat window film. The combination is unbeatable! These products are engineered to withstand the harsh marine environment. But better still, they'll insure your Dodger looks great for many years. Some factory or off the shelf products keep their pricing low by offering lesser quality material. While this may save in the initial cost, it inevitability results in a much shorter lifespan, poorer quality cover, poorer fit and more money in the long run.

Our Dodgers are also based on the designs and methods developed by Mark and Deb Hood from Hood Canvas. Mark is an IFAI Certified Master Fabric Craftsman. His Traditional and California Dodgers designs and methods are renowned worldwide.
