My business model is simple; fabricate the best possible canvas products for your boat using only the highest quality materials and meticulous fabrication techniques. There may be other business models out there, but I build boat canvas that lasts and looks great. I want your friends, family, slip-mates and other boaters too see the value in the craftsmanship  of my products, their beauty and longevity. I use only quality, marine grade products including lifelong Solarfix UV thread and Sunbrella marine fabrics. The use of marine grade, UV resistant products is paramount when it comes to the marine canvas application. Some factory or off the shelf products keep their pricing low by offering lesser quality material. While this may save in the initial cost, it inevitability results in a much shorter lifespan, poorer quality cover, poorer fit and more money in the long run.

THREAD: Made of 100% PTFE (PolyTetraFlouroEthylene) fiber, SolarFix® is THE best thread choice for all marine and outdoor applications. Extremely resistant to harmful UV rays and chemical exposure, SolarFix® is also mildew resistant and interchanges well with other thread. It's the only thread we use and it comes with a limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer.

FABRIC: Sunbrella is without question, the highest quality and the #1 trusted name in marine fabric. Even the harshest marine environments are no match for Sunbrella fabric. That's because its rich color is an integral part of the fiber and can't be washed away or bleached out by the sun, rain or chlorine.

FRAMING: The framing is the foundation of any top. We use 1", .065 wall high polished 316 grade stainless steel by Taco Metals. All of our fittings are also Taco high polished 316 grade stainless. You may find someone willing to use lighter (smaller) frames, aluminum or chrome plated alloys, but at Harbor, we build strong frames to last while looking beautiful.

WINDOWS: Again, in the interest of building the most beautiful, longest lasting projects our choice in vinyl windows is 40 gauge O'Sea by O'Sullivan Films. The O'Sea coating is specifically engineered to provide a superior scratch resistant barrier without compromising the hand or flexibility of the sheet. This unique chemistry also gives the O'Sea sheet exceptional chemical and stain resistance.

FASTENERS: "The chain is only as strong as it's weakest link". DOT has been a fixture in marine fasteners for generations. All of our fasteners, snaps, lift the dot, twist locks, are DOT Stainless. DOT's reputation for durability, functionality and appearance is second to none.
